Question Of the Month...
Kurt Cobain, Jim Morrison, Jimi Hendrix, Janis Joplin etc. would not have been as popular if they had not died at young age. Do you agree? Why or why not? Best answer wins Yamaha FG-301 acoustic guitar.

What is it all about???
Letters, words and punctuation are all ingredients of speech - but they are only ingredients. Whatever words we use and however strongly we feel, speaking in a flat monotone will not convey our pleasure, interest or fury. It is exactly the same with music. Clefs, staves and notes and all other musical signs are essential for conveying a composer's ideas but again they are only the ingredients of music. However much you feel the music 'inside you' if you play the keys in a solid, 'stompy' way you will project nothing of the musical meaning. At School of Symphony you will discover how to use your body to play the keyboards like a musician - brain, eyes and ears sending out instructions to your fingers, hands, arms and even your feet!

Courses Options

REGULAR COURSE

Concept - To become a quality keyboard player you need time and patience. Whatever comes with patience, practice and constant efforts is always great and also everlasting. This course module will aim at making you achieve great heights in music. You will be taught music in detail with the theory (reading music using staff notations). Now if you ask the question "How much time will I take to play like Bud Powell?" then it is a wrong question. That is why there is no fixed duration in this module.

Frequency - 1 class per week of 1 hour (or 4 to 5 classes in a month or 14 classes quarterly)

Batch Strength - Individual classes

Add-ons - We will be providing you all the reference material like workbooks, CD's etc. free of cost. You will also be given workshops on music theory and other music related topics every month.

Duration - No fixed duration. Whenever you are able to complete one grade you can clear the exam and move on to the next.

Certification - Certification from ABRSM, UK after clearing the exam.

Rules and Regulations / Fees Structure

"Our beginner level crash course student Anushree playing 'Nostalgia' by 'Yanni' on her 16th class. Well Done Anushree!"

CRASH COURSE

Concept -  Now this still remains our USP. No one can teach you keyboard as fast as us and that is a guarantee. This is suitable for people who don't have much time as in the total duration of the course. We will be doing only practical aspects of playing keyboard not going into theory of music. After the end of beginner level crash course you should be able to play most of the songs on the keyboard including all the complex chords. In the intermediate level course we will be doing scales and focus on playing solos. We will also teach you music composition and taking out chords.

Frequency - 1 class per week of 1 hour (or 4 to 5 classes in a month or 14 classes quarterly)

Batch Strength - Individual classes

Duration -  3 months for the beginner level and 3 months for the intermediate level.

Certification - After each level you may give an examination and get a certificate based on your performance from School of Symphony.

OUR SUGGESTION

We would recommend the crash course module to you only if you want to learn quickly without going into theory of music and reach a certain level so that you can play for fun. But if you want to learn the keyboard seriously and thoroughly then we would strongly recommend you the regular course module.

Did you know???

Yanni (Pianist) was the first major Western Artist ever to perform and record at India's Taj Mahal and China's Forbidden City, resulting in the multi-platinum album "Tribute". He invested millions of dollars into the project before a single sound was recorded. His organization mounted a near biblical effort with the region of Uttar Pradesh to improve roads and build two bridges in order that the flood plains surrounding the Taj Mahal could be transformed for three historic concerts beneath one of the world's greatest wonders. While allowing India's citizens to see a musical performance in front of the country's signature structure, Tribute ultimately led to three million dollars in donations to a Taj preservation fund. The recording of Tribute proceeded to China, where Yanni staged a new historic feat at another of the world's great architectural achievements, The Forbidden City. Between India and China, Yanni played to a collective audience of 250 million people.
