Did you know???

"Imagine" is a utopian song, with elements of atheism and anarchy, written and performed by John Lennon. It appears on his 1971 album Imagine. In the song Lennon asks us to imagine his view of a utopia, in which there are "no countries", "no religion", and "no possessions", and thus "nothing to kill or die for", only people "living life in peace" and "sharing all the world". As Lennon himself has acknowledged, the lyrics have strong Communist overtones. Some writers see this song as unintentionally self- satirical, as the multimillionaire songwriter is depicted in a film of the song playing a white grand piano in an enormous country house, while inviting us to "Imagine no possessions".

Pearl Jam has one of the best lyrics attached to them. With huge influences by The who and The doors, their lyrics help open up your head to a world of metaphors and beauty.
The story of Alive deals with the life story of Eddie Vedder Himself.
it deals with how a teenager is told the truth about his family, that the father he thought was his own was never really his father and the real father had died a few years back. So, Adolescnece was anyways a huge fight for him and this secret was handed out to him and he was told to deal with it. It was a curse for him 'vedder' and he started to write Alive.
IS that the question?and if so..who answers??
no one was there to answer him or guide him. left all alone in the vastness and insanity of his mind only to be pushed away into abyss further away from his family. not understanding how to deal with this, he wrote Alive as a curse. The curse according to him started to get lifted away as the crowd started to sing the chorus, Im stil alive with him as a celebration of life and they changed the meaning to it.

According to me, 'black' has the best lyrics by any band uptil now. pearl jam's black is what im talking about. i can completely connect to it. love gone bad. sorrow and pain and agony combined to realise that the love of your life is with someone else. all and all i taught her was everything, he gave her everything, and she gave him her all..her soul, her mind, her body and even then it didnt last for either one of them. he still loves her. his world was washed in black.
i think a perfect circle;s lyrics are awesome and so are tool's.
parabol/a are two of my fav songs by tool and combined they make sense to understand that one talks about the process of birth and the other one talks about being born, embracing life.
I also like lyrics by this band called revis.new age, uses metaphors beautifully.
Alice in chains was amazing, mother love bone, soundgarden. Nirvana proves to be good during a trip.
anyways people rock on!
