Question Of The Month...

All the musicians are born musicians. Is this statement true or false??? Explain.

The best answer would win a SOS FG-120 Guitar.

Drums

What is it all about???
A drum kit is a percussion instrument which usually refers to a collection of drums, cymbals and other percussion instruments arranged for convenient playing by a sole percussionist (drummer), usually for jazz, rock, or other types of contemporary music. The exact collection of components to a drum kit varies greatly according to the musical style and personal preference. At a minimum a kit usually contains a bass drum sitting on the floor and played with a pedal, a snare drum on a stand, two or three tom-toms, some of which are mounted on top of the bass drum and the largest typically free-standing alongside it , a hi-hat played with the left foot, a ride cymbal and a crash cymbal arranged on stands on the right and left.

What will I get???

This is a 12 class certified course for beginner to intermediate and intermediate to advanced level where you will learn everything about playing drums right from holding the drum sticks to playing drum solos. Playing drums is all about understanding rhythm. You will learn how to count and the theory behind different rhythms. You may also learn how to read notes for percussion instruments. After the course you will be on a decent level of playing drums and from where you can learn on your own (as learning never stops). The exact topics on which we will emphasize include basic exercises to help in playing beats like 4/4, 8/4 variations and also bass and snare alterations. Also you will be taught the concept of fills and a lot of them will be taught to you which you can compile into your own drum solo! Also regular revision classes will be conducted through the course so as to make the student perfect in whatever he learns. And to show our superiority in the field of teaching we have gone one step ahead and revolutionized the methods of teaching. The drum room has a computer which has a huge song compilation out of which the appropriate songs will be played alongside as you are learning your beats (needless to mention a metronome is also available on the comp). Also the trainer will provide you with knowledge of song structure, beat selection, an idea of the different genres of music and also an idea of the current music scene in Delhi (which is getting better day by day). So don’t be surprised if you land up playing drums for a kickass band after your course because we assure you that you will be good enough for that.

Did you know???

In 2000, Metallica discovered that a demo of their song "I Disappear" had been floating across the Napster file-sharing network. They soon discovered that their entire catalogue was also freely available. The band immediately determined to sue Napster and in the process asked that 300,000 Napster users found to be trading Metallica songs be kicked off the network. In 2001 Metallica and Napster agreed to an out-of-court settlement, and the band never actually sued any fans for copyright infringement. Nevertheless, the controversy created a public relations nightmare. In particular, Lars Ulrich (drummer,Metallica) found himself portrayed as a greedy and pretentious rock star completely out of touch with his fans. Many saw him as a pawn of the record industry, supporting the right of the labels to charge high prices as the middle men.

Still some support him when it comes to illegal music sharing, believing that he tried to do what he could to save the music industry. He is posted as a symbol against illegal music on the internet and the phrase "The man who started the fight against illegal file-sharing" is used. The people who support him believe that piracy and illegal file-sharing are damaging the music industry
