to appreciate music...you need to feel music...music can be appreciated if it is felt.you need to try and understand what the singer is trying to say,you need to feel what the singer is feeling at that point...you need to feel the emotions in the song...:-) |

In order to appreciate good music we have to create awareness between children and youngsters about music, only then they will be able to understand music and take serious interest in music. for example all peoples in our country understand what is cricket and it is played thats why they take so much interest in cricket as they understand what is going on. same with music if they are able ti understand about music they will appreciate it and take interest in it. when one dislikes a particular genre of music, its because his/her understanding can't go beyond it ..and if he/she doesnot understand it he/she will not LIKE it and to understand it you've got to LISSEN to it ..for example ..SOME MAY LIKE METAL SOME MAY NOT, FURTHER YOU'LL FIND MANY WHO DISLIKE DEATHMETAL BECAUSE THEY DONT UNDERSTAND IT .. ..concluding every student should be made to lissen to all the genres..this would make him/her realise which genre he/she likes and where's he/she comfortable and then he'll slowly adapt to 'the' kind of music and then undoubtedly will develop the senses to appreciate good music!! - SUKRIT SACHDEVA |

well,first of all i don't think this question is apt............this is because I don't feel anywhere it is specified as good music or bad music....its all about ones perception.some may like jazzy music soothing for ears on the other hand some may have it for slow or soft music...........thinking from the other aspect if you guys mean classical music as 'good music'.....then I think people would love to hear it,just that people have not marketed it properly and enough training or background knowledge is not given during schooling.with the mordern generation takig over,to maintain owr cultural heritage people must use various tactics and marketing tools to make the music popular first. |

well, firstly ill say that 'good music' is a perception based term. what genre may sound good to me , may not seem to strike a note with others. So i feel its the responsibility of the parents and of his/her teacher to let him explore this vast sea of music. maybe the child will land on the genre he'll appreciate.
